Not the priority here, but the consequences of AI slop for the xenophobic right are quite profound. Reactionaries now have a new modem for their politics: the visualisation of their deepest fears and desires that aims to articulate and concretise what previously belonged to raw libidinal energy.
The police continue to investigate the motive for last night's stabbings. Their initial statement is they don't have grounds to believe it was a terrorist motivated attack

Western ‘leaders’ once paraded Greta as a symbol of moral clarity—until she condemned Israel’s genocide. Now they don’t even care about her safety
““They dragged little Greta [Thunberg] by her hair before our eyes, beat her, and forced her to kiss the Israeli flag. They did everything imaginable to her, as a warning to others,” the Turkish activist ErsinÇelik, a participant in the Sumud flotilla, told Anadolu news agency.”+

The global sumud flotilla is now 130 miles from Gaza, the area where Israel has attacked previous boats trying to break the Israeli blockade. In 2010 the Israelis raided a flotilla of 6 ships in international waters & killed 9 people onboard.

All eyes on the flotilla.

This means that it is now Labour’s official position that Israel is committing genocide.

While at the same time, the Labour government continues to arm that genocide

Absolutely extraordinary!

"Power not protest" is a truly fatuous formulation. Would you rather be MLK or Trump? Gandhi or Stalin?

These people are so convinced of their own inherent goodness that they see their mere attainment of high office as a good thing. Even when they're using their precious power to enable a genocide
Protestor interrupts Rachel Reeve's speech

"We understand your cause and we are recognising a Palestinian state"

Reeves then mentions some of the things she's achieved and says, "That is the difference we make in power, not through protest"

His legacy will be nothing more than trying to ingratiate himself with people who will only ever see him as a metropolitan nonse, and shifting the Overton window to the right as a result.
Keir Starmer says he's known for 10 years that the left has got it wrong on immigration & wasn't listening to peoples concerns

Really? Because 5 years ago he said the left wasn't bold enough in talking up the benefits of migration.

He really is the most duplicitous politician in my lifetime

This is appalling as expected from a strategically, politically and ethically bankrupt Labour leadership

All Starmer offers is a slightly less extreme version of the far right which only ends up normalising its discourse, allowing it to set the agenda
“The belief that uncontrolled legal migration was nothing but good news for an economy should never have been accepted on the Left,” writes Starmer “fighting” populism. What does even mean “uncontrolled” in the case of legal migration? www.telegraph.co.uk/gift/f9444c6...
The Left ignored immigration fears for too long. It’s time to give communities back control
Only a plan for patriotic national renewal led by Labour will counter the rise of the populist Right

Watching the news these past few days, I’m somewhat less taken aback by how UK media has covered Trump’s visit - talking about golf and lasagna rather than domestic political repression and the Gaza genocide - and more by how they are manufacturing consent for AI and big tech’s corporate capture.
