orchestrated neglect across the country that continues today. you will never catch me celebrating Canada.
Breaking: the team investigating the Kuper Island Residential School in BC has confirmed 171 children deaths at the institution, 50 more than previously known. As a residential school historian and someone fighting residential school denialism, here's a 🧵 www.timescolonist.com/local-news/a...

i bought a 400-page book that is a critical lens on AI (Karen Hao’s ‘Empire of AI’). i was so excited about it, but since i got it i just can’t bring myself to read more horrors. maybe this weekend, the work week is too stressful.

my nerves are too shot for the new season of The Bear. i can’t sit through another season of people screaming at each other. i need gentleness.

this is actually breathtaking.

you kicked Sarah Jama out of the NDP for having the same pro-Palestine values as Mamdani. you don't have a whiff of his values.

RESIGN.
Congratulations, @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social! What you’ve built goes far beyond New York City. You've captured the imagination of progressives everywhere with a blueprint for how we can win: with hope, with values, and with the belief that politics can be a force for good.

For anyone aware of the tragedy at Vancouver Lapu Lapu festival, here's a thread of GoFundMe's available to help support the many victims. (copy pasted from my friend 'J' in the Vancouver Filipino community)

Liberalism is untrustworthy/fickle. We’ve seen too many examples of liberalism giving up on its own “values”
👉🏾 DEI
👉🏾 Black lives
👉🏾 labour solidarity
👉🏾 immigration/building a wall
👉🏾 government cuts
👉🏾 means testing
👉🏾 language of “woke”
👉🏾 ethnic cleansing
👉🏾 police brutality
👉🏾 protests
👉🏾 trans rights
To me, “liberal” has always meant standing up for what’s right, making sure the most vulnerable people feel safe, and doing good things in our communities. Every single day I come onto BlueSky to be told that “liberal” somehow means “evil, weak, and ineffectual.” I am STILL confused.
