Chris Murphy: "This is a country that's falling apart because Trump is in the middle of an authoritarian takeover. We're not on the verge of an authoritarian takeover. We're in the middle of it ... I have no moral obligation to vote for a budget that literally funds the destruction of our democracy"

Today, HUD officials posted divisive political messages on their website.

There are laws in place to keep federal agencies nonpartisan.

This is not just unAmerican – it’s unlawful. That’s why we’ve launched an investigation.

Is there a public dataset that means something to you?
Maybe it’s an air quality index or information on a nearby river or even crime statistics… public data is a public good that allows us to build businesses and strengthen communities.

TL;DR If you use federal data, now's the time to start telling the story about why it matters
As the former U.S. Chief Data Scientist, Denice Ross knows first-hand how valuable and vulnerable our nation’s federal data assets are.

For those who rely on federal data in small or large ways, it’s time to champion the federal data we often take for granted ⤵️

“Habeas corpus is the legal principle that requires the government to provide a public reason for detaining and imprisoning people. If not for that protection, the government could simply arrest people, including American citizens, and hold them indefinitely for no reason.”
Does Kristi Noem even know what habeas corpus is?
The Homeland Security secretary's word salad raised even more questions about the administration's assault on fundamental rights.

How embarrassing and expected 😂
The Budget Committee markup of the Republican reconciliation bill FAILS. Five Republicans - Roy, Norman, Brecheen, Clyde, and Smucker - join all Dems to defeat the bill.

Budget is in charge of putting all the individual committee sections together in one bill, it can’t go forward without them.
