When I taught Civics, I used Supreme Court cases to trace our expansion of rights to demonstrate democratic values.
If I were still teaching Civics today, I would need to place the concepts of 'precedent,' 'stare decisis,' and 'rule of law' in the trash bin.

On the other hand: the strategy of letting the GOP absolutely fuck the country over and burn it to smoldering ash to piss every one off might work to win rebound elections, but if they could figure out how to not let the GOP win and create the carnage first the country would be better off.
