My review of the USL League One final is up. Knoxville pulled it off, from the stadium experience to the victory on the pitch, despite a recurring turf issue. But as the Knoxville fans say as they lean into it "we play on a baseball field" and "I dare you to play it back"

I love Mikel Arteta. He is an excellent manager. He let the side down today. Team was gassed for last 15 min and he only made one sub. Saw the momentum shift and could’ve paused things just bringing someone on. Wouldn’t do it. Calafiori not great, wouldn’t sub him. I don’t get it.

For the love of everything why only one sub? Even just to slow the game down
November 8, 2025 at 7:36 PM
One sub in such a physical game is malpractice.

I do not understand making no subs in such a physical game. Arsenal clearly gassed. Fresh legs will see this out.

That was so idiotic by Sam Surridge. What if this had gone to extra time? Just absolutely pointless and brain dead. Didn’t even waste much time. Nashville have been playing on the edge for the last 20 min. It worked out but there was no chill.

I don’t understand why Nashville are being so overly aggressive in the tackle, asking to get beat and commit fouls, instead of maintaining good positioning and making things hard on Austin

That dude just took twice as long trying to set up the long throw as Bauer did when he got carded #EveryoneN

The announcers in the U.S. said that the VAR was essentially lobbying the referee to change the call.
The way that penalty incident was dealt with was absolutely re-refereeing by the way. The ref has seen the incident live but they’ve asked him to watch it again 20 times and make a new decision.

Love those two as late subs. That doesn’t feel like a one-off. They have so many of the qualities you want against tired legs.

Shower thought for the day:

The healthy player in our squad that can do the best Gyökeres impression of running into space, dribbling, etc. AND can do the best Havertz high pressing at CF impression is Gabriel Martinelli.
