Viktor Gyokeres said today that "there's still time for me to show that I'm capable of doing even more" in an Arsenal shirt.

Are the first signs of that improvement starting to become apparent? Mikel Arteta sees them and so does Gyokeres.
Why Gyokeres is finally finding form at Arsenal
With goals in the Champions League and league cup Gyokeres is starting to show why Arsenal spent so heavily on him last summer

Cristiano Ronaldo has told senior officials he is seriously considering leaving Saudi Arabia this summer. He is said to feel “betrayed” over the failure to strengthen Al-Nassr and his involvement in upcoming games is now less certain (not ruled out).

His former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema moved from Al-Ittihad to Al-Hilal, but a lack of moves by his own club, Al-Nassr, has the superstar questioning his future

Imagine if this unnamed footballer were widely acknowledged to be in the midst of a major slump in form...

Looking at these, there's really not a lot to say about Saka's supposed drop off that isn't just cold streak.

That spike late in 2023-24 by the way? That's the last time Saka, Odegaard and Havertz started in the Premier League.

Pulling up Wharton and Anderson was the first thing I did when Mike gave us our new player comp bar chart tool thingy and well well well, Wharton has somehwat closed what felt like a pretty sizeable stats gap from several months ago

Maybe Chelsea's best chance of winning this tie started with them keeping it tight for a while and nicking something late.

Their execution of that plan, though, was found wanting in resounding fashion as they tried to play on Arsenal's imagined nerves.

Liam Rosenior's approach to Tuesday's EFL Cup semifinal made sense in principle, but it proved to be the wrong call

Anyway this man was certainly aged by that Chelsea performance.

Rosenior says he thinks there was a moment in the stadium around the 60th minute, when Estevao and Palmer came on, where it felt like the game could turn away from Arsenal.

Isn't that what we're all here for, several minutes of nonsense while we wait for someone to kick a free kick straight into a wall?

HT Arsenal 0, Chelsea 0 - If I try really hard I think I can delude myself that this was an intriguing, positionally fluid tactical battle.

Wouldn't fancy watching it again though.

Interesting from Chelsea, who clear out their penalty area just before Madueke takes the free kick, putting three up and forcing Arsenal to have three deep.

I suppose in some ways, not many but some, what Mikel Arteta sees might be more important than what I see. Maybe.

Very easy to be very critical of Palace for signing Strand Larsen. But when they lost Marc Guehi that took 0.10 npxG per 90 PL minutes out of that team.

In signing Strand Larsen they've put 0.09 npxG of that back in.

Cristiano Ronaldo out of the Al Nassr squad amid unhappiness with PIF over transfer business this month. Sources close to the club say that frustration is shared within hierarchy, no signings made by Al Nassr so far this window.

Mikel Arteta news update
- Saka "doesn’t look like something too serious" but a doubt for tomorrow
- Hope that Merino will return this season
- Arsenal "actively looking at options" to cover Merino's injury
- No other fresh injury issues

Pep Guardiola didn’t offer a particularly convincing explanation for what goes wrong at Manchester City when the half time whistle blows. And it’s hard to put your finger on exactly what‘s wrong.

The title race bending scale of the problem is clear though.
If Man City want silverware, they'd better start playing a full 90 minutes
