Covering the Raptors, I've gotten to watch/tell some of the most remarkable success stories in sports but none were more unlikely than Chris Boucher's. He wrote about his incredible journey in great detail for Players Tribune. It's definitely worth your time www.theplayerstribune.com/chris-bouche...

Has anyone else been dealing with some serious headline whiplash recently?

Even for those of us who follow #climate and #energy matters closely, it can be hard to know what the hell is going on!

So here's a thread to help climate communicators get a grip on how to deal with this 🧵

Achieving a globally just energy transition requires understanding supply chains in reverse, starting from what we produce and consume and working backward to their material inputs, writes @triofrancos.bsky.social: www.commondreams.org/opinion/gree...

Policies that promote alternatives to car use, reduce sprawl, encourage more compact batteries, and require recycling would all reduce the scale of mining needed for carbon-free transportation.

When I say the US has bet its post-pandemic economy on AI while China has bet its on green energy, this is what I mean: Here, AI related companies account for 75% of S&P 500 returns since ChatGPT's launch. In China, green tech accounts for one quarter of GDP growth.

Bloomberg did some great video journalism about the oil wastewater crisis in Texas.

If nothing else, you need to learn about Hawk Dunlap. If you were scripting a movie about the oil industry, you couldn't come up with a better character.

I’d add that if masking is tough on your mental health, you do not want ANY part of the restrictions on your life and coping mechanisms that a new chronic physical illness might impose.

I used to rely heavily on exercise for mood. Now I can’t even go for a walk. And that’s the tip of the iceberg.
