@stephenking.bsky.social Watched #thelongwalk They blew it. The whole story was the spectacle of the event. Tens of thousands lining the route. Perfect cause to use #CGI of crowds. Instead they use less than a hundred extras

2/2 amazement ‪@tomleykis.bsky.social‬ surfaces asking where I had heard such a story. Was not happy when I said from him, the alcohol haze I suspect. Never said it didn’t happen, just not to repeat the story. He’s now retired and conviction/probation is history & statute of limitations apply

1/2 It has been decades, ‪@tomleykis.bsky.social‬ has come back to LA and was doing a rather long monologue bolstered by booze. Subject was altercation with wife in which a glass he was holding “somehow flew across the room into the fireplace”. Forget what ancient chat room was used , but to my

How to get to Sesame Street? Kids can now head to Netflix as well as PBS

The LADWP 2024-25 Water Infrastructure Plan is posted on the LADWP website at
www.ladwp.com/sites/defaul...

On page 6, under 2024-25 Goals, is a bullet pointed item:
"Repair Santa Ynez Reservoir cover."

Anyone else notice in that long list of #tariff increases, #Russia got a pass from #Trump

Last November I moved my entire deferred retirement money out of the stock market, not trusting #Trump with the #Economy While I only MADE money in the hundreds, I didn’t loose in the thousands

More underinsured homeowners pointing fingers. Their claim puts this incident NORTH of the community by over a mile and uphill. Windstorms were blowing due WEST. All counter to fire behavior. While dependent on smaller reservoir, there was no lack of water at “Summit”. BOTTOM FEEDING ATTORNEYS

@SocialSecurity is technically a #Ponzi scheme. The money deducted from my paycheck for SS, was spent long ago. Today’s workers, are funding my monthly SS check. In other words, past investors are being paid off by today’s workers that, is a Ponzi scheme

Ynez reservoir only serves the “Summit”. Water tanks serving “Palisades” went through 4 milliongallons before falling back on what could be pumped from Sunset. System operated exactly how it was designed to do. Just how can anyone prove negligence. Sounds like somebody let their insurance lapse
Spencer Pratt is the lead plaintiff in Palisades fire case against LADWP for water delivery issues. I guess Speidi lost their home in the fire. Interesting case. I wonder how it will end.

False allegations against CEO have led to 100’s of threats. DWP security do not have police powers. LAPD can’t be used as 24/7 security for private citizens. Don’t like it, blame the right wing whackos. Note, since she is LA CITY employee, NOT LADWP, city taxes will
Pay, not rate payers
What an obscene amount for security. I'm in LA but not in the fire areas. #LADWP is a ripoff (there's a more articulate word I know)

Some golf courses and parks have their wells that put out SEPARATE irrigation water only. Carcinogens leached into the ground in micro amounts make it unusable for drinking. Normal treatment DOES NOT REMOVE THOSE CHEMICALS
LA city water goes through treatment, so it can be used via public utilities, yes?

Watering human or animal food plants with polluted water sounds unhealthy, potentially dangerous

Except you don’t. A century ago Mulholland demanded a separate entity for his new utility. From pens to buildings, it is self owned. Has it’s own medical, personnel and retirement departments. All separate from the city worked there for 30 years. It also explains why PUC has no authority
When a big LADWP bill comes in I don’t even hate it all that much because I know that we own the utility.
People’s Gas & Electric

- investor-owned utilities have increased residential electricity rates over the past three years at a rate 49% higher than inflation

- over the same period, publicly owned utilities have increased their rates 44% *less* than inflation

Rather simple. On bill the last read used for billing is listed. Go to your meter, is the read is HIGHER, the bill is correct. If they can’t get a meter read, bill is ESTIMATED and that is printed right on the bill.
I think LADWP just makes up numbers for electricity bills and hopes we don't notice.

My bill arrived today and is higher than normal. I was traveling for one of the two months they bill for.

No electricity use besides maybe refrigerator and a couple of security cameras. #ladwp

You do know all you had to do was flip a switch at the breaker box
January 29, 2025 at 6:06 AM
That is how to file a claim. Do a little more research. Exactly what negligence was involved

Let’s see. Attention seeking couple in a position where ambulance chasing attorneys will get in line to sign fools on contingency hoping for a settlement to make a nuisance lawsuit disappear
[Vulture]Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag Sue L.A. Over Wildfires - Vulture Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag are suing L.A. and the LADWP over the Pacific Palisades wildfire. Their house burned down in the fire, and they are now claiming inverse condemnation.

Post 9/11, feds ordered ALL drinking water storage had to be covered. Ynez, being much older was open air. Unknown what year, it was covered to meet standards. Prior to 2024 this cover failed and reservoir was taken off line
There is no history on the Reservoir in question, like was it drained because it was in need of repairs and on a long wait list.

I know LADWP like SCE and SDGE and So Cal Gas have huge backlogs
January 27, 2025 at 5:33 AM
None, until contract for the repair is completed, it must remain offline per federal guidelines
What has the LADWP response been to the dry Reservoir
