“I need to write from one end of the page to the other, a wide spread like the ocean between Miami and Africa. I wonder if I am a good person. Sometimes the tree outside my window is alive and busy with poems. Sometimes it simply stands in awe of the light that pours down...”

So here’s a post I wrote a couple of years back; it was popular and I stand by it. *WARNING* that it contains some friendly but colourful
swearing because that’s how I roll. annavaughtwrites.com/2023/12/12/t... It’s all about ridiculous expectations and kicking them out the door. Big love ❤️ #JoinIn

Had a handful of homophobic/transphobic messages here today because I’ve created a Starter Pack supporting LGBTQIA+ writers.

Please follow and share this pack to help keep Bluesky the positive place it promises to be.

Is there anyway to just skip menopause and go straight to wearing a straw boater hat while solving murder mysteries around quaint English villages?

The concept of AI has long been accompanied by the idea that humanity is not enough, and needs to be perfected. Perhaps it's time for us all to reject the concept of perfection, to celebrate our shared and flawed humanity, and instead of building facsimiles, just try to be the best humans we can be.

Louise Gluck has passed. 💔 Her poetry meant so much, to me, to everyone. It helped keep me sober in those dark early days. What a loss.
