Reading my “A Poem for Every Night of the Year” book and this is today’s (yes, I know it’s the morning!)
A nice reminder it’s ok to pause when you have a long journey ahead.

Things are big and bad, but something that YOU can do in your life, starting right this second, is to live with love, care, & acceptance.
YOU can make a difference in the lives of people around you.
YOU can be a beacon of kindness in a cruel world.
It wont fix the worst on its own, but it will help.

I have this little app to lock my phone & minimise screen time. You get to grow digital trees & plants. If you cut it off early the tree dies. Might just be my ridiculous levels of empathy but the thought of killing them has really kept me on track & my mental health is better too. Win win!

I love that my AuDHD brain rejects the chatter of podcasts. Most seem like an immense waste of time.

9 hours of sleep to start the year.
So needed. Quiet last couple of days of reading and writing before normal life resumes on Saturday!

Every year, around this time, I find myself reflecting on the fact Back to the Future’s Biff could easily be Home Alone Buzz’s father.

Got back into reading this year after my brain not having the space in the last few.

Read some gems. Looking forward to reading more in 2026.

The post Christmas crash has hit. I have the start of a cold.
Duvet day of movies and a short story I think!

I devoured this with the same energy that fuelled the writing; fervency.
The hipster child of Annie Erneaux’s Simple Passion.
The repetition would have annoyed me if it wasn’t for the fact it perfectly captured the irrationality of obsession.

Woltemade just gets tugged and pulled all the time ‘cause no one knows how to defend against a striker of his build. Sick of the refs ignoring it. #nufc

This show is so bloody good. I’m so pleased I saved it for the Christmas break!

It’s so deep without feeling intense and also so heartwarming and fun.
So pleased it got renewed!

I’ve starts the story in each of us that survive
But T and H are before S and U
So know that after the struggle comes the truth.
There will come a time
You no longer need to just survive
With patience and perseverance
You can begin, and continue, to THRIVE.

Wrote something beautiful after taking 6 weeks to face something agonising that had to come before it. Regrowth in a place of devastation is a powerful thing.

Catharsis and a major word count milestone reached and breached.

A good evening of work.

Note to self: stop saving your 700 page reads for December. You are too tired at the end of the year. Make them Summer reads.

This whole thing is going to eat itself and we are going to have to go back to relying on books and encyclopaedia's as reference points!
(I view this as a positive!)
I’m sorry, but it is disgraceful to be an academic who uses this technology to conduct research. It should be prohibited in all of our scholarly institutions, including universities and journals.
