And if you need a selfish reason to set up this (very easy to set up plugin),
you can have OBS export a text file with the captions and timestamps.

Want to find something you were talking about in that 6 hour VOD?
Just Ctrl+F the text file!

But also, do it for the people who need it.
Streamers, please add closed captions if you can! It's really easy to add to OBS, you can just install this plugin and then totally forget about it.

CCs are great not only for people with hearing difficulties, but for those with audio processing issues too.

We ran a randomized controlled trial to see how much AI coding tools speed up experienced open-source developers.

The results surprised us: Developers thought they were 20% faster with AI tools, but they were actually 19% slower when they had access to AI than when they didn't.
