I am loving the Moon book.

That is all.
Yes you did! I signed a few thousand tip-in sheets in January and they went out to stores when the book was released.

ASM legacy society journals are all high quality and not based on a profit model. Which, sadly, many “high-impact” journals now are. If more of us publish in our relevant society journals for microbiology, virology, immunology, etc., we can strengthen academic over profit publishers.
Delighted that Pitt libraries renewed “all-inclusive” @asm.org journal subscriptions for 2025 including the 6 S2O "legacy" journals.

➡️Pitt authors can publish open access in any of the 6 S2O journals this year without paying OA publishing fees/APCs. ➡️More info: journals.asm.org/s2o-author-faq

If the NYT cared to check facts instead of peddling again conspiracy theories about what scientists did or did not think (see QT'd thread), they'd realize that what happened in April 2020 was actually a forewarning for what is currently happening -- arbitrary political cancellations of grants. ▫️6/6
Well worth a read. Not because of the content - it's total horseshit - but because it's a prime example of what happens when you mix anti-science, conspiracism, arrogance, and a total lack of expertise.

Maybe one day NYT OpEds will engage with the actual science 🤷‍♂️.

Transmissible clamcer. Science rules.
It feels odd to just present science here now, but I am happy to share our new report of two lineages of transmissible cancer in cockles in Puget Sound, and our finding of repeated horizontal transmission of mitochondria.
