Very few people are psychologically, mentally, emotionally fit to push through a prolonged time of uncertainty & no guarantees.

And this is what autocracies count on.

It started with women though. The one day act started with the Women's Political Council.
The Montgomery Bus Boycott started as a one day action.

When Dr. King and other organizers saw how successful it was, they organized, extending the boycott for more than a year, won a victory, and integrated the city buses.

(shout out to Dr. Aldon Morris for reminding me of this).
Just so we’re clear, a one day boycott is performative BS. A boycott that’s short, where the company knows when it’s going to end, is BS. If you’re going to boycott it has be for a while, long enough for it to hurt you. If it doesn't hurt you, it won’t hurt the corporation.

Hey zine makers and zine librarians: Tranzmission Prison Project, an LGBTQ+-centered prison advocacy and abolition group, is looking for digital files of zines on specific topics. They will print paper copies to share. If you can help them out, please consider it! 📚

Fuck it. Trans folks need MATERIAL SUPPORT.

@distributeaid.org is launching an HRT Harm Reduction Toolkit that provides 1 year of medical supplies needed to take injection-based HRT. We were planning to go live in January, but I'm not waiting.

If you were a kid in the 90s, you got got by good propaganda. I think about this all the time: anti smoking ads, the ozone layer, snipping the pop can rings. We are HEAVILY propagandized and if we cared we could do it again.
Truth and propaganda are not necessarily opposed! Propaganda is just a charged term for emotionally engaging information. FDR is one of the most successful propagandists in executive history, and most of it was good (from our perspective)!
I lowkey think that Dems are so bad at persuasion because they’re all tied up with truth and factchecking instead of doing some good, god’s honest propaganda.

It’s been a journey toward understanding this and I’m happy to share.

White supremacy’s only goal is total annihilation. When we try to make ourselves “small” to be fit in and not be a bother or whatever, we’re actually doing white supremacy’s job.
What you said today about when you’re making yourself small you’re doing the work of white supremacy for them is going to be with me forever

A while back I asked folks why they’re joining Bluesky and the most common response I saw was, “I just want a good place to get my news” and, yall, no. Bad.

The reason you're tired isn't just capitalism. It's that everything is a platform which means everything is a marketplace, which means you're trying to exist in 300 simultaneous interconnected hypercapitalist economies while being stalked through all of them by one pair of pants you already bought.
