Trump is worried that Republicans are going to lose badly in the 2026 midterms.

His solution? Rig the election.

Republicans aren't ‘entitled’ to 5 more seats in Texas.

Americans ARE entitled to a functioning democratic system that represents them all!

“There was a moment when William Alexander Scott III had to put his camera down, the lens no longer focused on the skeletal remains of the concentration camp victims. The stench of death was as unbearable as the sight of bones piled upon bits of flesh.” In Fortify: open.substack.com/pub/nicolefc...
To Bear Witness
W.A. Scott III understood his WWII assignment required him to bear witness to crimes against humanity. This was a gift to the historic record and a curse to the man who held the camera.

They should be free to live authentically — with dignity and respect. Trans and nonbinary communities deserve that and more. 💞🏳️‍⚧️ #TransDayofVisibility #TDOV #ImForPP

Florida’s leaders may want to score political points by targeting immigrants, but the Constitution doesn’t allow it. We’ll continue fighting until SB 4-C is struck down permanently.
New Florida immigration law halted by judge amid lawsuits from immigrant advocates
Pointing to the federal government’s power to regulate immigration, a U.S. district judge temporarily blocked a new Florida law, SB 4-C, aimed at cracking down on undocumented immigrants.

Today we filed suit in federal court to halt and reverse the gutting of the only federal agency dedicated to library funding. We will not allow these illegal actions against Americans and our libraries to go unchallenged.

NEW: ALA is going to court to stop the President’s attempts to illegally dismantle the Institute of Museum & Library Services.

The President does not have the authority to destroy a federal agency. That's why we're taking action with our co-plaintiff @afscme.bsky.social. #ForOurLibraries (1/3)

Saw someone upbraiding someone else for having a hobby while the world is on fire, and, my friends:

1. The world is ever on fire, this is today's conflagration;

2. If you don't find time for rest and joy the fire will consume you;

3. Don't let people shame you for being an entire human.

One of the very cool things about this case is that the court called one of the original framers of the MT state constitution to help interpret it because our constitution is only 50 years old and Mae Nan Robinson Ellingson was 24 years old when she helped write it.
Whoa—the Montana Supreme Court holds that its state constitution protects the right to "a stable climate system," and strikes down a law that barred consideration of greenhouse gas emissions when permitting new fossil fuel projects. juddocumentservice.mt.gov/getDocByCTra...

Like the rules that said that black women could not use white women's toilets, the latest abuse of human rights in the US Congress is not about safety but about power, the power of a majority to bully a minoritised group. And if decent people will not challenge it, the abuse will stand. And spread.

Such wonderful times we live in that this can be attributed to either flank of the Senate. If leadership positions weren't virtually entirely tied to seniority, it could incentivize being good at your job to head a committee and disincentivize endless term seekers playing the numbers game. #politics

The majority of voters when polled agree with common sense gun reform. It is GOP leaders and extremist judges who further fuel the NRA's baseless reinterpretation of the 2nd Amendment that sustain a society in which school shootings are more commonplace than not.
More than 390,000 students have experienced gun violence at school since Columbine.

But okay, let’s prioritize creating a CEO threat hotline instead of passing gun reforms.

Our society is broken.

Imagine being such a sore loser that you keep the loser's playbook after a win. Confident winners do not waste a moment's thought on those that predicted their loss. This is, in addition to threatening the free press, a clear indicator of deep-seated insecurity. #politics @chrislhayes.bsky.social
"This is about flagrantly imposing prison-yard rules on a free press. It's about making a local pollster and a small newspaper into examples: make Donald Trump unhappy in any way and we will come for you, too," says @chrislhayes.bsky.social on Trump suing Ann Selzer.
