Played Ghost Town Pumpkin Festival tonight with friends! It was super fun (and I completed the Haunted Theater puzzle, even though it was scary!)

So today's Halloween newsletter from @lauraehall.bsky.social features this Japanese pumpkin monster and two intruiging tidbits about it - it's the only known image of this creature and it's from a *board game*.

Every time I see an ad for XR glasses they say they give you a "200+ inch screen" and that seems like such an unbelievably useless piece of information. If I look at the sky is it a 2000 foot screen? If I look at my hand 2 inches? Is resolution not important???

I'm just gonna say it. Extensive character creators as the first action in a game is bad design and pacing. Nothing better when excited to play a new game than playing with sliders for two hours unsure if you'll be stuck with your decision.

Had an amazing CONvergence 2025 with friend & guest of honor @wertle.bsky.social - especially loved the first stab at Taskmaster. @leeharris.net was a superb Taskmaster! @chebutykin.bsky.social the technical brilliance beyond it of course, & that other guy that assists TM was alright. The decades of and possibly permanent damage this abomination of a "Supreme" Court is doing to the country makes me feel sick. Really goes to show the difference in effort to build versus destroy.
