It's me, Jerome. 53 year old South African single father, c# developer, former meth head - clean since September 2013. And atheist. Keep your religion away from me.

Also I despise all right wing politics and don't want to see it here.

White men only make up 31% of the population yet hold 62% of elected offices.

Thats why they're so afraid of DEI. Keep that in mind while they're covering plaques and scrubbing mentions of women and minorities from government websites.

They're the real minority and they don't want you to know.

I was homeschooled between 11-16 due to chronic illness. My mother was my main tutor and she didn't finish secondary school herself. I did, however, make friends with a bunch of furries on the internet, who ended up teaching me grammar. This is the modern day equivalent of being raised by wolves.

Imagine telling someone at work about a loved one who's been in ICU for a month, after something that suddenly affected their health, and this person turn around and tell you it was probably the COVID vaccine. Also apparently they're going to "arrest Bill Gates" in the Netherlands.

Now that it's Christmas I must ask: Did Baby Jesus soil Himself or did he use His magic God powers to send that Holy Shit straight to Hell!?!

My electricity has been off nearly 48 hours. So sucky. Even worse, local municipality (in Jhb, South Africa) still posts to Twitter.

I wish everybody would move here already.

I have learned through experience that if they ask “are you open-minded?” it is best just to say “no.”

I'm hardly active here, just read some stuff occasionally. But yesterday I stumbled onto some random Facebook comments, US right wingers parroting what some other idiot said about the platform being full of pedos.

Just boldly asserting nonsense.

I honestly struggle to comprehend how anyone can watch a Donald Trump speech and NOT go... "This man is a fucking idiot."

My brother will have a hissy fit if I post this on Facebook but at least I can post it here.

Anyway here’s a cheerful piece about how the Sun will eventually destroy all life on Earth (but not by exploding, so, you know, there’s that)
Here’s how the Sun will end all life on Earth
Our home star won't go supernova, but the end of its life will be no less spectacular.

I keep reading how this place is an echo chamber.

As opposed to? The other place with more bots than humans? Or the faceplace with the shrieking bigots, bots everywhere, and suggested content scraper pages drowning out the 2 or 3 friends' posts I still see.

So what? I'll take the echo chamber.
