We’ve reinvented so many medieval phenomena (peasant superstition as New Age quackery, chevauchée as carpet bombing, the king’s wicked ministers as QAnon) except the cool stuff, like illuminated manuscripts and useful splendor. I bet Trump’s touch doesn’t even cure scrofula.
