OPINION: Last month, UNESCO designated Italian cuisine part of the world’s “intangible cultural heritage.”

But behind this evident soft power win also lies a political agenda.
How the Italian right is weaponizing food
While the country’s cuisine certainly merits recognition, it shouldn’t become an unwitting participant in an ideological agenda that runs counter to its spirit.

Strange as it sounds, there does appear to be a valid point here: People who desire censorship will often start with undesirable groups than work their way towards the mainstream.

This has been a time-tested pattern and should be understood clearly.
After Wikipedia lost their legal challenge, a case by 4Chan, Kiwi Farms, Gab is ironically the one thing that could prevent the UK government from mass censoring LGBTQ ppl off the internet. Here's why u should support them winning the suit (I say this as someone who's been a target of KF for years)

DHS Says REAL ID, Which DHS Certifies, Is Too Unreliable To Confirm U.S. Citizenship

It's the punch line to a bad joke that started 20 years ago when Congress passed the REAL ID Act.

LA/NYC need to book these artists who are ditching the "Trump Kennedy Center" at special venue concerts to help them out. Some of these artists don't make a lot of money annually and the performances they're canceling is a huge percentage of their income. They shouldn't lose that for standing up.

Similar thing for me and the NICU.

Oh, my kid needs to be transferred within three hours to stay alive? Hold on, let me call around on Christmas Eve for the best price on a condition we haven’t even ID’d yet.

These people are deeply unserious.

Signed, another economist who generally likes markets
Reminds me of that time I needed emergency appendectomy & I was on morphine & the hospital billing guy came to my room to ask me to pay the copay upfront

I was like dude I’m going next door to check the other hospital‘s price also what’s my name again

Ps I’m an economist, ok w/markets generally
Roger Marshall: "We want patients to become consumers again. We want patients to see what the actual prices are. We believe that if we would add the price tags to this bill, that it would save the country a trillion dollars a year."

The internalized concept of human rights is not for our friends. A commitment to recognizing human rights for all people is for the people we don't like, our former friends, the people we find gross, stupid, or disgusting, and the people we see as less than human.

White people cannot sustain the US military on their own.

Hegseth is essentially killing the US military from the inside like a virus.

And the rest of the world is licking their collective chops.
With his ban on military shaving waivers, Pete Hegseth knows damn well who he’s pushing out: Black troops.
