We’re more than 8 hours into this Reconciliation markup in the House Natural Resources Committee and the GOP has completely stopped engaging on answering basic questions about their own bill.

We have never seen anything like it. It’s going to be a long night.

Living abroad and seeing other societies function first-hand is always such an eye-opener. I never tire of basically bragging about the experience because every living person with 2 brain cells should be actively *ashamed* of the US healthcare system.
We, too, could have nice things if we collectively demanded them.

The USPS is a federal institution because it is one of the only certified ways to deliver official mail.

That is to say, if you live in the reaches of Alaska, you get mail despite it being g wildly unprofitable to do so. It never will be.

But you get it because all citizens must.
This could destroy the livelihoods of many indie comics creators by jacking up the costs of everything - think of crowdfunding shipping alone. Please tell your US reps and senators to do all they can to fight the privatization of the USPS.

Of all media outlets this cycle, perhaps none exemplifies the severe double standard by which Democrats have been judged next to Donald Trump as The New York Times. Take a look at last week's deep dive into the topic by Todd Beeton at The Big Picture.

The double standard Kamala Harris is being held to by the media is mind numbing

CEO: Who's that in the hallway?

Accountant: That's Greg. He is the only thing keeping this company together. We pay him in nickels and Grubhub gift cards.

CEO: Fire Greg.

I think the historical context on this is really important to understand and promote because the reality is that there's no inherent aversion to trans people in our culture, it's one that's been cultivated by explicit right wing propaganda as another way to divide the working class against itself
