And yes my villain origin story is people trying to explain to me in confusing detail why something I'm enjoying is "actually bad writing" when they could have just said "man idek why but I hated that shit so bad" and I would have been like "bummer, but legit"

Every time I get that “I don’t wanna go through the effort” feeling, I remember that there’s a population larger than Brazil’s that wouldn’t be able to see my hilarious meme, and then I add the alt-text. It’s not that hard, and it’s a kindness to others.

No. The point is that it doesn't have to be something big. The recipient is under no obligation. By saying it has to be something big you're back to making people feel helpless.
