I will never forget having to edit Jamal’s final, posthumous piece for the Washington Post, after he was murdered.

He was calling for free expression in the Arab world. You can read it here :

Opinion | Jamal Khashoggi: What the Arab world needs most is free expression
The Arab world needs a modern version of the old transnational media so citizens can be informed about global events.

We should all be disgusted by the flood of anti-Muslim remarks spewed in the aftermath of Zohran Mamdani’s victory in the NYC mayoral primary — some blatant, others latent.

Shame on the members of Congress who have engaged in such bigotry and anyone who doesn’t challenge it.
Attacks on Muslims flood mainstream after Mamdani win
Openly racist rhetoric has become normalized at the highest levels of American politics.

Resistance starts with refusing to accept the premise of the masked armed men, that they are inhuman incarnations of state power who cannot be confronted.

Minneapolis cops got millions for the PTSD they said they got brutalizing and disabling protesters in 2020!

"At least 155 officers have received worker’s compensation settlements totaling nearly $26 million.. Many of those same officers have questionable histories of misconduct."

Watch the slow motion: it appears to me that the officers discuss the photographer and reporter before the one on the end fires on them (it looks to me like he's aiming at the camera, not the reporter, but you decide)

the democratic party - like on most issues - needs to actually stand for *something* on immigration. right now its a mush of poll tested shit and gop lite. the public can see that from a mile away and its a turnoff.

stand FOR things and the opinion will follow. path to citizenship, etc
We need a better discourse around public opinion on immigration. Quality polling reveals that it's self-contradictory: Voters want mass deportations until they're offered more nuanced options. Why? Here's a theory: Most voters above all want a system that works. 5/

When OptumRx dropped coverage of his $66 inhaler, Cole couldn’t afford the new price.
5 days later, he died from a severe asthma attack—with no inhaler.

After delivering three straight promotions - a feat never before achieved by ANY club in the English system, yes, I believe they bloody well should put up a statue of Phil Parkinson.

Just not right away, that sort of thing can mess with a man's head.
Is it a successful Wrexham season if they DON'T achieve back-to-back-to-back promotions?

finished this. much to say, but, first off, lauding Texas’ “housing miracle” and touting Houston’s lack of zoning laws reads as wildly tone deaf to the injustices wrought by Texas’ policies that EJ activists have been sounding the alarm on for decades.
