I don't know if I'll ever get over the fact that the US threw away 8 decades of postwar prosperity for literally nothing at all, just the whims of a madman, with no benefit to the country in any way whatsoever. Destroying our relationships with all of our allies to absolutely no purpose.

We are not just "excited to explore" the new cycle paths, whoever this nameless quoted "government spokesperson" is. We have endured years of temporary and dangerous cycling routes through major truck routes leading to multiple fatalities and injury. Get them open! www.theage.com.au/national/vic...

The bridges over Footscray Road and Dynon Road remain fenced off, forcing cyclists to stay on dangerous roads.

I wrote about how magic links (emailed one-time login links) frustrate me while explaining that they radically accept some fundamental truths. What I find particularly bad about this example, is that a basic footpath/shared path is so achievable - pocket change for the state gov, and the local gov could probably do it alone (ignoring ownership of particular roads). Active transport links should be prioritised, because they are good value

Even when there aren't train delays, Melbourne's evening tram frequencies (every 20 minutes Mon-Sat, 30 mins Sundays) are just completely inadequate in 2024.

Even when there aren't train delays, Melbourne's evening tram frequencies (every 20 minutes Mon-Sat, 30 mins Sundays) are just completely inadequate in 2024.
