@techconnectify.bsky.social I don't suppose you read these but I saw your underwood portable in the frame just now (has that always been there?). I wonder if you'd want to do a progression of typewriter tech? I have a collection with that focus and I live in the NW suburbs.

Seriously our Reichstag Fire is a dork getting carjacked? That was the best they could muster? And we can't figure out how to not? What is going on?!

Wouldn't it be nice to have a Congress with any modern history whatsoever at effectively asserting its authority to limit war powers. But that's not a living memory.

How is it possible that just one man is being allowed to bring down the entire world economy and perhaps the Pax Americana? Someone stop this!

I've taken up a hobby of repairing very old typewriters. It's a fun way to use my hands and think mechanically. It wasn't until yesterday that I actually sat down and wrote a letter using one. It was a revelation. 1/x

Elon Musk has been a walking SEC violation for a decade and no one cared. The entire Trump era could have been avoided if the US took white collar crime anywhere near as seriously as it does low level drug crime.

On a 2023 earnings call, Elon Musk boasted that Tesla had bagged “over 1 million” Cybertruck reservations and that “demand is off the charts.”

So why has the company still sold less than 50,000 trucks since customer deliveries began 14 months ago?
‘Over 1 Million’ People Wanted a Cybertruck. Where Are They?
“Demand is off the charts!” Elon Musk crowed at the end of 2023, citing more than a million reservations for Tesla's polarizing polygonic pickup—so why has it still sold less than 50,000?

Honestly, if house Democrats don't at least introduce articles of impeachment then what are we doing here?

It seems obvious until you ask yourself, what if they accused you of being an illegal immigrant? How would defend yourself if you weren't given due process to do so? This is why obvious criminals are given trials, it's the only way to ensure that everyone gets a trial.
One problem with the idea of reserving due process for law-abiding people is that due process is how we figure out which people are law-abiding.

If the GOP was really the party that acted to "support our troops" we expect that VA budgets would actually increase under their administrations. Of course that doesn't actually happen as Republicans love military cosplay but actually hate our troops. www.nytimes.com/2025/03/09/u...

I'm convinced this is right. RFK fans aren't that numerous but they are precisely the kind of gullible low-info dipshits that ordinary campaigns struggle mightily to reach bsky.app/profile/unav...
also this confirms my priors that RFK did, in fact, swing the election

Please remember something: if you had said a year ago that Trump would do even a fraction of these things, you would have been mocked, belittled, accused of “Trump derangement syndrome,” and dismissed by certain people.

Identify those people and block and shun them.

Spent a few hours at the @artinstitutechi.bsky.social today, and it was a lovely - and much needed - reminder of the beauty humanity can create. I didn't take many photos as I tried to stay in the moment, but a few things caught my eye.

Think about this and how Fox and the GOP would politicize an Army helicopter crashing into a commercial airplane days after a Black woman president tried to gut air safety & installed the least qualified man ever as Defense Secretary.

THAT is the degree to which Dems should politicize this crash.
The head of the FAA, Mike Whitaker, resigned on January 20 — one year into his 5 year term — after facing relentless criticism from Musk for not approving SpaceX missions quickly enough.

The Senate confirmed him unanimously in 2023.

No acting FAA head has been appointed.
