This exactly how fascism always works. They make you feel threatened. They tell you the solution is to stop caring about a particular group of people. They strip those people of their rights. They manufacture another crisis to make you feel threatened. Rinse & repeat. In the end they come for you.
Well the slope from “let the elderly and disabled die of COVID” to “let’s trash all the rest of our ethics, morals and laws” was basically a short walk on a flat path wasn’t it?
Lol! Jesus Christ.
I asked grok who was the better role model for humanity, Jesus Christ or Elon Musk. GUESS WHAT.

Today, as the #CovidInquiry releases its module 2 report, we are thinking especially of everyone who will have to relive the trauma of that time, who will have to hear of the government failings that led to their loved ones' deaths.

We will never forget our beloved dead. ❤️

This is what happens when you put a preening, lazy, populist, dilettante in charge of a country.

Johnson was completely out of his depth and more concerned with his pathetic perceived popularity than leading this country through the greatest crisis since 1939.

Dominic Cummings poisoned the atmosphere & helped create a toxic culture, with connivance from Boris, in which the loudest voices were the only ones heard, sidelining women's contributions to decision making, according to the #CovidInquiry Report out today.

If Labour had brought in sensible mitigations like improved indoor air quality mandates to control airborne viral spread as soon as they were elected, instead of pretending measures based on droplet dogma will do unless & until the Inquiry says otherwise, how many lives would that have saved?
“Voluntary measures were brought in on 16 March 2020, followed by a stay-at home order seven days later.
An immediate lockdown on 16 March would have meant 23,000 fewer deaths in the first wave in England alone, modelling suggests.”

...which is clearly not true. Appropriate mitigations to stop airborne viral spread are still not in place.

The Government will "carefully consider all of the findings and recommendations"

In my work, democracy isn’t a regime type. It’s the set of conditions that let a society check what’s true, argue about it, and hold power to account. When that system breaks, the label on the regime stops telling you anything useful.

"I am not able to flap my arms and fly" is not an evidence-based claim because no study exists ruling out the possibility.
This is completely disgusting. Today, the CDC updated their vaccine safety page. It now says:

“The claim "vaccines do not cause autism" is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that infant vaccines cause autism”.

Cleaning the indoor air in hospitals would be a good start. The policy decision NOT to do this is killing patients every day with preventable, hospital acquired airborne infectious diseases.
I won't start ranting about it because I just get myself worked up, but quickly: I literally can not think of an investment of public funds that has a higher return than *cleaning the indoor air in schools*. It's so easy, so cheap, & has such HUGE payoff. Criminal that we basically don't do it.

To be fair, current government policy is killing people, & they are hiding that well too.
