We used to worry that (left) parliamentary political conviction was being replaced with marketing-style focus groups. I temper my view of what people think/say on issues as I know I am on average way more left wing, but I can't picture the group of people that the Labour Party are consulting of late

EoD ep6. Bob Peck surrounded by symbols of man’s hubris and nature’s power to outflank that, his attention drawn to some black flowers by his dead daughter (who’s finished giving a bed bath). what’s this? To his right, hiding in the green, GAIA. “Clever girl” sez Peck. Torn apart by rapture. The end
Edge of Darkness ep 5. All action as Craven & Jedburgh (art Ian Gibson) are guided through the cave/mines by Godbolt (art Carlos Ezquerra).

Caves, a nearby nuclear facility & a cold-war bunker in the mid 80s? Lucky they didn’t bump into German teens from 2019 and become their own grandparents
Episode 3, lord Percy dead from listening to New Model Army (or “punk music” as the often paraphrasing text of the subtitles put it)

I suspect like many I was intrigued enough to look. It’s bollocks. The stuff it says torrented on my home IP in the last week. Just didn’t happen.
I keep a regular watch on my 'IP neighbours' downloads on iknowwhatyoudownload.com. This month they are enjoying Sewing Bee, GBBO, Ttaskmaster and Ass Traffic Lola.

If the UK is on the brink of civil war, as Musk claims, it follows that in 300 years time there will be be a new generation of civil war re-enactment societies.

Lorne Balfe is having such a great time. Missions Impossible, Wallace and Gromit and now the Sea Devils soundtrack. Blimey
#DoctorWho In An Exciting Adventure With The Sea Devils is getting a 'special re-edited' repeat on Sunday 7th December at 7pm on BBC Four.

The 90-minute 'blockbuster special' (we just called them omnibuses in my day) will feature new sound design by Mark Ayres and additional music by Lorne Balfe.

agh, autocorrect subtly undermines so much electronic dialogue. Quietly correcting a typo in "conversation" to "conversion" (as just happened to me) means I don't notice it (the actually GOOD wiggly-red-line highlight fails to appear), and the person in receipt has to reverse-engineer what I typed

Again, not to go on about ai but I have a few thoughts.

1. I've genuinely never seen an actual creative get excited about using it. Someone who has actually made something before. Its people from marketing and finance backgrounds getting excited about a false sensation of making something.
