My future mother-in-law called me today in tears over Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s confirmations. She said “That man is going to kill my son.” My beloved fiancé who is an organ transplant recipient and who relies on herd immunity for diseases he can’t be vaccinated for.

The only way I can stave off despair is by doing what I can. Controlling what I can control. For me, that has meant downloading and printing important resources, buying physical books and DVDs, stocking up on goods like masks, and resharing information on social media.

Make sure you use your library cards. Check out books by Black authors, indigenous authors, queer authors and other marginalized communities.
Also, ask your local library to buy more titles by marginalized folks. We often buy those requests.
