I absolutely love these socks. However, it only took a few months to wear a hole in the toe.

But luckily catching a worn spot before it turns into a hole is a much easier mend w/ Swiss darning! With some scrap sock yarn, I just followed the existing threads in the worn spot to “re-knit” the area.

My dad gave me this ripped jeans he’s had from at least 2005. In pants years, this means they’re ANCIENT. I wore them for a while as is because they’re super comfy and always look great on me!

But the time came for me to mend them to extend their life… Pants Life Support if you will…

Finished this sweater a while ago but I’m just getting around to posting it! It’s a Laerke Bagger pattern, called “Alone Together,” where you hold two strands of yarn and tie in random yarn scraps you have saved up.

This lovely still life was recently sold and now has a permanent home!

It was my first time framing a canvas myself, but I really like the effect it has (especially since it means I don't have to paint the canvas edges 🤭) I might have to get some more frames for some other pieces too...

Recommendations for fabric to use as interfacing for a mid-weight wool?

I’m planning to make a wool overcoat, but the pattern calls for fusible interfacing which I HATE. I’m down to pad stitch whatever I need to but I’m not sure what other fabric I should use as interfacing.

Made some new socks just in time for Valentine’s Day! 🧦💕

Knit them as normal according to my super secret sock recipe, and then used duplicate stitch to add the hearts on. They’re very warm and comfy!

Yarn is Berroco Ultra Wool Superwash Worsted!

Art is sincere attempts of communication by the most interesting people of each generation. Ai content cannot pass a basic Turing test.

Don’t buy the ai generated images will get “better” than what people can do nonsense.

The point of art is not “better” images. That’s a child’s understanding.

My greatest achievement in February was making a single handknit/felted dryer ball stuffed with wool yarn scraps from years of knitting projects.

Been on a quilting kick lately so I made these little back-of-the-chair quilts for some friends.

They like birds. 😅

Explored some new techniques like paper foundation piecing! All the blocks were available for free somewhere online but I otherwise planned it out myself on graph paper.

There is something very depressing to me about the rise of game stores that are just undecorated little rooms with folding tables and which only sell trading cards. They feel like supervised injection sites for card game addicts

Tried out a new kind of mending patch for knits! You just… knit a patch right over the hole. I think it turned out quite well, and I hope it holds up well. Very quick to do!

Okay well I managed to get all the pleats basted! Now I can continue with installing the zipper, hemming, etc. Feels like it took forever though 😭
