Last week I shared this, talking about how Glasgow was being given less funding in the UK government's new Pride of Place fund than our equivalent cities in England. Now it transpires that not are we being short-changed, but this isn't even new money.(1/2)

We are horrified but not surprised by this. No one connected to the Magdalene laundries should be involved in making law on any subject, let alone trying to push laws which endanger women who are doing sex work. Sex workers say no to the Nordic Model.

Over the past decade, Scots were told to wait for an ambitious Labour government to come along & make life better. Labour have a huge mandate & still meek to the point of cowardace. Please step up and do the right thing. The consequences of not being strong here are catastrophic.
The Labour response to Farage policy of leaving the Refugee & Humam Rights Convention should not be “he won’t deliver”.
It should be “this is not morally right” (not “British values” even).
Voters want to see authentic consistent leadership. Not debate the workability of cruelty.

Scotland needs more people, not fewer. Of course independent we will have an immigration and nationality (and asylum) policy but we’ll have one that suits us, and is all about working with friends and neighbours. I honestly hate the UK debate on this and am fearful of where England might be going.

It has become something of a more pertinent critique /since/ but it should not be missed by pretty much anyone that a huge proportion of the "SNP Does Nothing, Why Wont They Do Things" type of commentary in the Sturgeon years came from men.
i think it was @dov.bsky.social that said if there is a coherent political theory known as 'sturgeonism', it is literally just acting as if women and children are political subjects whose needs matter and things like this make that really, really evident
