Today’s ArtDrop is an oil of Rudolf II, Holy Roman Emperor, as ‘Vertumnus’ the Roman god of seasons, fruit trees & gardens. This style of painting was called "scherzo” then, but the artist, Giuseppe Archimboldo, is usually classified as a Mannerist. This editor also clumps him in with Grotesque art.

Can we do a release of the art auction files so we can have transparency surrounding who is buying art for obscene prices?

The art market is so opaque it attracts shady dealings.

I have to prune back put the rose and put it to bed for the winter today. The rose bush grew so much this year! The stems are so thick and hearty at the bottom I can't really trim them back to get the cover over them anymore. I was using the styrofoam cones, then I switched to big styrofoam coolers.
