Happy #AFLW final day!

The Age, the major local newspaper for where the game is occurring, with a local team in the final, has their top story (and top sports story) today as *checks notes* about the AFLM.

Pleasantly surprised to hear from my GP that there is now a formal protocol for reducing or discontinuing SSRIs, over the period of months and very gradually.

Nice change to last time when I was told, "just step it down over 2 weeks. Oh you can't possibly have withdrawals, that's not real."

I wonder if tech creeps are gonna do what the automotive industry did when they invented the crime of jaywalking to shift the blame for safety issues onto the public
re: roblox dude's interview crashout. the thing he wants to say but can't is "at scale, kids are gonna get hurt. that is the price for scale." the thing nobody wants to say out loud is "maybe scaling to a level where harm isn't manageable is bad, and scale should be contained"

one of the coolest things about ChatGPT is how you can actually just never use it. you can fill your whole entire life with simply not once using it. it's incredible.

After years of calling them "old fashioned" and treating them with disdain, everyone seems to be back on the sun-dried tomato train, based on the number of "marry me" recipes I see around.

But some of us appreciated them all along. And I will not forget the scorn and criticism they faced.

Well that's a satisfying fact
Since the cancelled COVID finals series, the loser of each #AFLW Grand Final has gone on to win the next season:

ADL lost 2021, won 2022 S6
MEL lost 2022 S6, won 2022 S7
BRIS lost 2022 S7, won 2023
NM lost 2023, won 2024
BRIS lost 2024, now playing off in the 2025 Grand Final

Yeah, yeah, wolves using tools, it's all very interesting and opens up entirely new vistas of understanding canine intelligence.

But more importantly, this is poaching, and those wolves belong in jail.

Between the Ashes, the ALM and the AFLW, having a hard time choosing what to watch.

Might just put on some old Xena instead.

Magenta is the most cosmic color because there is no wavelength of light that corresponds to that particular color. Our brains just sort of fill in the gaps to make sense of it.

Which is why, H.P. Lovecraft's "The Colour Out of Space" is pink/magenta.
Man, everything is so bleak, anyone got a fun fact or little bit of trivia they want to share

The car ad that uses "Go your own way" just makes me think of break-ups (surprisingly enough). And it's on during every single ad-break on SBS, and it's kind of depressing.

Just got another booster - free and easy at my local chemist. Consider getting one as we come into a very busy period with lots of socialising. #covid19 #vaccine #australia
Friendly reminder than #covid19 vaccines are available to most adults in #Australia at least every 12 months. For free. At a local pharmacy.

It's easy, and helps to keep you and many others safe from potential permanent disability. Please do it!

OK, this is wild.

In September 2023, geophysicists across the world started monitoring a very odd signal coming from the ground under them.

It was picked up in the Arctic. And Antarctica. It was detected everywhere, every 90 seconds, as regular as a metronome, for *nine days*.

What the HELL?
