My girlfriend pointed out my Girl From Mars t-shirt (I love the band Ash) could be interpreted as a trans thing.

Men are from mars, women are from Venus, and I'm a girl who was assigned mars at birth

oh so it turns out that it wasn't just ONE book with te reo removed for "education" reasons, but actually an almost blanket ban directed by Erica Stanford against the use of Māori words in ALL new readers?

People need to stop taking ANY explanation or action of this government at face value

Batman is a billionaire who deals with his trauma by assaulting poor people to 'fight crime', despite the fact they'll be crippled by health-care debt and this will further impoverish them and their community and drive them towards crime to survive.

My girlfriend and I saw a UFO the other night. She said it wasn't a UFO, it was probably a drone.
I said did she know what it was? And was it flying? And was it a physical object?
She reluctantly agreed it was, in fact, an unidentified flying object.

Never gets old seeing my girlfriend's nu-metal band play a song about a shitty person I dated a long time ago 😂

I suspect that RNZ *has* talked to the journalist and has decided to back her and lie about the situation.

Sounds like anti-trans ideology might be a bit rife at our national broadcaster.

Hey RNZ and Ruth Hill in particular

One of the reasons it's called a "deadname" is because it's the name media use when we turn up dead and can't speak for ourselves

Fuck you for keeping that true today

I'm rereading the Star Wars book set the day after Return of the Jedi, the Truce at Bakura.
I forgot that the space velociraptors named the Ssi-ruuk that power their ships and droids with human life force aren't the weirdest bit. I'm one chapter in.

Was so cheered up to see a birthday package from my gf had arrived, then immediately stepped in cat vomit.
The cat and I are taking some space from each other, and ask you to respect our privacy in this difficult time.

These are the pay equity claims that the government wiped out in just two days to make its budget balance. It's appalling that tax breaks for tobacco companies are being funded by cutting women's pay rises and backpay.

The attack against pay equity for women is disgusting enough.
But then seeing Govt Ministers crowing about how this is good for women?! Insulting gaslighting patronising 'splaining. We know we have to use this to galvanise the many!

I just want to remind people that Curia has been removed from the Research Association of New Zealand (RANZ) and was found to breach the Code for a previous survey. I find it irresponsible for a senior Minister to be referencing one, but unfortunately I am not surprised. #nzpol
I cannot find this Curia poll online yet, despite Winston's claims.
Obviously it would be useful to see the question forma,t and whether or not the respondents were aware of the implications of the 'Definitions of Woman and Man' Bill.

Infertile cis women have never been spared violence. Menopause never came with pay increases. Tall, strong women never got treated better - in fact, they're often treated worse, for instance, if they work their asses off to represent their countries in Olympic boxing.

Patriarchy is built on a made-up set of gender fairytales that have never needed to be TRUE to be oppressive. Women are small and weak and cry too much. Men are strong and rational. Women have babies. Men run companies. Magical rules imposed on us regardless of our ACTUAL biology or desires.

Signal failures in Wellington meant all trains were cancelled. Poor communication meant left people waiting for bus replacements when a train finally came. The disabled, elderly, etc were left behind as carriages were packed like sardines - yet there were three unused locked carriages at the back!
