today's "do something useful despite social anxiety" action - gave money to Resistbot so I can pelt Klobuchar and Smith's offices with faxes or snailmail, and not constantly feel dread at the idea of cold phone calls. will any of it work? who the fuck knows, but at least I'm saying something.

Tbh I think it's important to get a little bit invested in your friends' ships even if you don't share them because they can help you appreciate aspects of characters you wouldn't necessarily arrive at from an outside perspective

Since I've seen like 3 different comments this week, reminder that the problem with "admin costs" in health care is more "too many execs and shareholders" and not "there are a shit ton of people who make your health care possible other than doctors and nurses and they all deserve to get paid too."

I am anti-murder. I am not surprised when someone who commits murder doesn’t share my values.

I kid you not, @itch.io has been taken down by Funko of "Funko Pop" because they use some trash "AI Powered" Brand Protection Software called Brand Shield that created some bogus Phishing report to our registrar, iwantmyname, who ignored our response and just disabled the domain

I’ve been online long enough to remember USENET and “don’t feed the trolls” and could never for the life of me figure out why Twitter didn’t operate under that same philosophy. Too much troll-feeding happened on there.

It was truly something to be a teenager & early adult between the fall of the Berlin Wall and the fall of the World Trade Center. That’s not just a nostalgic idealization of youth; we were in a moment that’s impossible to explain now.
I just want to be in middle school and play the Sega dreamcast for the first time again, instead of wondering if I'm going to be forced to live under authoritarianism.
