He's right.
But also: this was exactly how some of us warned the Terrorism Act 2000 would be used when it was passed, by the government in which Peter Hain was a minister. He and all the others either ignored or dismissed our warnings. It's very frustrating.

Could he recommend means of protecting remains like those at Dorchester (Oxon) and Wimbledon Common, noting that in France funds were available for this? Bruce replied that he'd received a petition from the Archaeological Society and would be happy to help in any way… apart from granting them money
