To me, any NHL season in which the Habs don't meet the Bruins in the playoffs should be considered unofficial and the Stanley Cup "winner" should be designated with an asterisk because the essential ingredient, Habs vs Bruins in a best-of-seven, was missing.

I discount blowout games at either end of the scale. Games that get completely out of hand don't tell us much, whether you win 7-0 or lose 7-0. It's ugly but it doesn't signify.
You learn more from the game a team was trailing by two goals and came back to win in OT - or the opposite.

Brutal week for the Habs. Back in the '70s there would be calls to fire Hughes and St. Louis, trade Suzuki etc.
It's just a bit of finding their level going on. They aren't yet an elite team but neither are they as bad as they look this week.

I shouldn't have to say this but while I'm a fan of hockey and the Canadiens, I'm a journalist first. As such, I'm not interested in trade speculation. For me there's no point.
