Had an amazing vegan birthday lunch today at Mallow in Canary Wharf. Big fan of Mildred's, so this place has been on our list to try for a while. Didn't disappoint. I had a vegan burger and fries, my partner had a thalli, daughter had French toast, and we shared dumplings, kimchi and home fries.

I've been watching this surge ahead all afternoon, and it's been most satisfying. Sometimes it's not about achieving some end result, it's about sending a message. I really hope this goes on to break some records.

Is anyone really surprised? When a government leads with hate, then this is inevitable.
Trans hate crime rises 11% in past year in England and Wales
However, the total number of hate crimes has fallen in the past 12 months in England and Wales.

Sunak has claimed that a #GeneralElectionN0W is "not what the country wants", despite insisting he is unafraid of going to the polls

Via this petition, let's tell Sunak and the #ToryLiars that he's wrong...

We absolutely DO want a #GeneralElectionN0W!!!

Daughter: I'm going to change my socks and tights. If you like it, it must be bad.

I feel like the single best practical example of the failure of markets is that we don't develop new antibiotics because their best use is very limited, which means they won't be profitable. So everybody loses. By choice.

More archeological evidence that trans people have existed for thousands of years, this time from Anglo-Saxon burial sites in England.
The burials that could challenge historians' ideas about Anglo-Saxon gender
Skeletons found with items that don’t align with their estimated sex are usually excluded from research – but that assumes a 19th century view of gender.

87 years ago today, the people of the East End of London fought the Met Police, protecting Mosley's fascists in what became known as The Battle of Cable Street.

And here we are today, in Tory Britain.
