Ya know there are days that just suck. When they happen you gotta love on yourself more than you citizens yourself. The world will critize you more than enough. But, the world won't love you how you need to be loved when it really counts. So begin with self love and pick yourself up, go get em!

Intentionally limiting how much I take in from news or social media is a way to control what is feeding my anxiety. No one can stay tuned in 24/7 without loosing their self in the process. Silence is sorting though what I have held onto to see if it fits or not

ICE just arrested Brad Lander, the NYC Comptroller and one of the leading candidates for Mayor, without grounds.

He was conducting routine immigration court work, escorting individuals from hearings.

He asked ICE for their warrant - well within his legal rights.

This is political intimidation.
Whoa! NYC mayoral candidate and current city Comptroller Brad Lander seemingly arrested at the NYC immigration court while attending to escort someone attending their hearing.
Lander just got detained by federal agents as he tried to escort a man out of the courtroom. Lander was taken in an elevator with masked agents, along with one member of his NYPD security detail.

Thoughts and feelings are the traffic jams of being a living being. We are not our thoughts. We are not our feelings. We are not our worst day. We are not our best day. We are a collection and compliation of all that has happened and what we have learned from it.

I am never going to apologize for having empathy. I will never concede the rhetorical stupidity of arguing about too much empathy. Caring about people is fundamental to a functioning society. Highly recommend this piece on Baldwin and the "civic love gap." onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1...
Facing the Civic Love Gap: James Baldwin's Civic Education for Interpersonal Solidarity
In this essay John Fantuzzo critiques civic education's current focus on power and turns to James Baldwin's conception of love as offering an alternative approach. Fantuzzo's argument is that Baldwin...

The tsunami of negative news has started to get to me. It's like sandpaper to my heart. The country I know we can be has all but disappeared. Yet, it is vitally important for me to never give up and let the nihilism win. The minute I surrender "they" win. Friend, I join in today to fight again.

A bill in Arkansas would ban gender affirming HAIRCUTS for transgender youth.

HAIRCUTS.

This is a straight up North Korea state sanctioned hairstyle proposed law for youth.
GOP bill could ban hairdressers from giving gender-nonconforming haircuts to minors - LGBTQ Nation
The bill would allow anyone to sue someone who affirms a young person's transition, and it specifically mentions hairstyles.
