My love of poetry might just be the result of mishearing words and phrases and experiencing a thrill at a sound or concept that I hadn't previously considered possible. Learning later that I simply heard wrong did not diminish the thrill!

FOR THIS BURNING WORLD I want waterfeet to walk this burning world (where are the frogs?) marshes seethe, sedges grasses forbs blaze up, tall forests fall to fiery ground birds drop sizzling from seared horizons (where went the fishes, the cool mosses?) mouth wind-blistered skin spark-stung, I watch streams crackle and steam.... where are the frogs? (frogs who call the rain) Burning. with little hope I pray over my bluest socks all night long and in the morning still wet with prayer put them on, start walking.

the worst dream. ever.

i was in an office building during christmas holiday and all employees on every floor were lined up to give gifts to their robot supervisors in hopes of receiving employee benefits... people were in tears hoping for the best...

one of the more depressing dreams ive ever had.
