In NYC during the late 1980s, I was in my early 20s and worked downtown in the WTC. I stopped taking the subway to/from work because I would get groped every trip by men headed to/from Wall Street.
To avoid it, I walked four miles each way instead.
That’s how endemic that type of behavior was.
