We have three vital Lords amendments coming to the Commons: brownfield-first development, protection for chalk streams, and stopping “pay-to-pollute” deals.

Please lobby your MP — especially Labour MPs — and urge them to back all three.

Beyond shocking. The Conservatives’ appalling protest-silencing laws must go!

Paul Parker for the Quakers: “No-one has been arrested in a Quaker meeting house in living memory. This aggressive violation of our place of worship… clearly shows what happens when a society criminalises protest.”
🚨 Outrage as 20 police officers break into Westminster Quaker Meeting House and arrest six. 🚨
This shocking violation of a place of worship is a direct result of crackdowns on protest and dissent - freedom of speech, assembly and democracy are at risk.🕊️

Today I took a message to Rachel Reeves at the Treasury: it's time to rebalance the economy.

A #WealthTax on multi-millionaires and billionaires would raise £24billion - nearly 5 times as much as the government is trying to save by taking support away from disabled people.

When Cameron created NHS England, he also scrapped the government’s duty to provide comprehensive, universal healthcare.

So the *important thing* is that Labour need to reinstate that duty.

It’s not just about ministerial control. It’s about ministerial *duty*.

Exclusive: Trump plans to revoke legal status of Ukrainians who fled to US, sources say
U.S. President Donald Trump's administration is planning to revoke temporary legal status for some 240,000 Ukrainians who fled the conflict with Russia, a senior Trump official and three sources familiar with the matter said, potentially putting them on a fast-track to deportation.

Locking the UK into new fossil fuel production is nothing but a costly and reckless act of vandalism. Today I spoke at a rally in support of a legal case challenging government-funded carbon capture - a fig leaf for new gas power stations.

It is unbelievably counterproductive to fund increased defence spending by cutting aid to the most fragile countries, or by squeezing stretched departmental budgets. Why does the PM not fund this by increasing taxes on the most wealthy rather than further burdening the poorest?

I understand the point here, but strongly disagree.

That politicians have failed to protect our democracy in the past does not justify a failure to protect it now.

The risk that our democratic system could be flooded with foreign money is real and immediate. It needs real and immediate action.
Changing electoral donation rules to stop one donor a bad idea. To change system that has benefited established parties & stop donations that now benefit an insurgent party will confirm sense system is rigged & drive backlash. To avoid that do a change which comes into effect after next election
