Oil companies love lower prices, correct?
Reporter: So we’re in the business of nation building?

Trump: No, we’re in the business of having countries around us that are successful… where the oil is allowed to freely come out. It gets the prices down.

I also love America and believe in its stated values.

And I understand that this pronouncement lands very differently when it comes from an organization that has intentionally been overhauled in order to curry favor with a jingoistic proto-fascist who says his opponents hate the country.
Incredible. CBS Evening News announces five new “simple values” — instead of their “38-page handbook” — as they roll out Tony Dokoupil is lead anchor.

One of those values is simply: “We love America and make no apologies for saying so.”

Once again, we should simply abolish the Senate advice & consent process, as currently structured. It is completely useless & has totally failed in its sole purpose of screening out malevolently incompetent senior government officials.

RIP Graham Greene. Every time he popped up on screen when I was a kid, my mom would excitedly point him out for being an actual Native on the screen. Able to be deadly serious and infinitely hilarious (even in smaller roles like Last of Us), he ate up the screen. Nʌki’wah brother.

The @nytimes.com "The Daily" podcast on the US/EU trade deal, which sounded like it was produced by Howard Lutnick, went to great lengths to downplay the costs of new 15% tariffs to US consumers. Only a fleeting and non-specific reference to previous tariff rates, which were close to 0%!
