For years, this was a lone, windswept birch, surrounded by nothing but billiard-table sheep-bitten grass + rocks.

Now, with grazers gone, it protrudes from a rising tide of multi-species young rainforest, full of wildflowers + birdlife.

Nature *wants* to return.
