Good morning. I found a Stars Hollow Christmas YouTube thingy.

So I won an award last night. I have imposter syndrome & always feel like I don’t really deserve good things. I shared my good news with a “friend” & he “jokingly” belittled my accomplishment by feeding right into my insecurities & I immediately ended that friendship. I may be insecure…

I finished Sanctuary: A Bad Batch Novel. It's the one word title square

I didn't really like it. I read all of the Star Wars novels bc I love the universe, but most are just "meh."

I actually haven't watched the show yet, and the book assumes you have. My bad, maybe I'll revisit

For book recommended by the library I read Conditional Citizens by Laila Lalami. It was a deep dive into how it doesn’t really matter what your level of citizenship is, if you have brown skin in this country you are never really considered to be an American. #RootRootRead

Read The Outsiders for the first time since middle school. It was a lot more sensitive and sweet than I remembered. It makes sense why it’s held up all these years. #RootRootRead

I was really hoping to like Friendswood by Rene Steinke, but it was more meanderingly boring than interesting. #RootRootRead book set in Texas.

Finished a few books recently, but only one for Book Bingo.

Brandi Carlile's Broken Horses was my book by a LGBTQ+ author. It was interesting, a real rags to riches story. The first 2/3 was great, but when it gets to where she gets famous, it feels like it's all name dropping.

I read this book about the crimes of Spiro Agnew because history repeats itself. Hopefully, the part about principled prosecutors standing up for the rule of law repeats, too. 🤞🏼 #RootRootRead 4/6

Finished this one today for my book by an author of a different race, ethnicity, or religion. It was different, but really good. Not quite what I was expecting , but I didn't completely know what to expect. I enjoyed it, though. #RootRootRead

Finished a bunch of books recently, as pictured. None qualified for any of my Book Bingo spaces.

The one that really stuck out to me was Nigeria Jones by Ibi Zoboi. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. Very engaging coming of age book about a girl in a black separatist community

Started reading this memoir but didn't finish before it was returned, so listened to the rest on Spotify - read by the author. Alarming and eye-opening. Basically, Facebook, Mark, and all his cronies are so gross and lack all morals. We knew this, but hearing first-hand is disturbing. #RootRootRead

It should be a rule that if a book is going to end on a cliffhanger, there should be a disclaimer or something to make sure the reader has the next book ready to go! #rootrootread

It’s cold outside so I bundled up when I took Emerson for a walk. Stopped by to visit our 81 year old neighbor and left drenched in sweat. Damn old people and their infernal heaters. 🥵

Finished another book last night: Hope, the autobiography of Pope Francis.

He's an interesting man who has led an inspirational life. I don't often read biographies of non-baseball players. This was pretty good, he's a better writer than most baseball players, lol. It's a low bar
