The cycleway in the Netherlands goes behind a petrol station to avoid any conflict with vars coming in or out of the petrol station. Such a small detail, but it makes cycling safer and more seamless, just smart, stress-free design. This is how you do infrastructure right.

One of the greatest wins corporate PR pulled off in the U.S. is convincing the vast majority of journalists that an activist is biased and agenda-driven and thus an unreliable source, but a CEO must be quoted in every story in order to lend it credibility and "balance."

Hey friends.
This is just between 1200 of you and me.
If you think my back alley bakery is a worthwhile business that should exist into the future, would you be so kind as to place an order online?
If not, that's cool too.

How do you move around your community in winter? Let us know!
Help us learn more about how people travel in winter and participate in a short survey! shorturl.at/2kK4X
The survey is a collaboration of the FinnCycle research program at Tampere University and WCF. The results will be used locally and (inter)nationally to promote year-round active commuting.🌤️🚴‍♀️🌧️🚴‍♂️🌨️

Today marks the 100th anniversary of a L.A. traffic ordinance that reshaped public space in the city and across the U.S.

I spoke with historian Peter Norton (@norton.bsky.social) about how the auto industry helped limit pedestrian access to streets, paving the fast, deadly roads we navigate today.
How a century-old traffic ordinance paved the way for L.A.’s deadly streets
L.A.’s pivotal 1925 traffic ordinance gave cars priority on public roads and became a nationwide template. Pedestrians are still paying a deadly price.
