i feel like a lot of transgender headcanons assume a level of self-reflection that a character clearly does NOT have at that point in their life. its why i latch more onto "character changes their current canon gender" way more bc it counts as character development

i just adore how unselfconsciously joyful Onimai is. in a culture that's constantly telling us that becoming a girl is traumatic, or a political issue, or is a humiliating loss of masculinity, Onimai is brave enough to say that no! it's about having fun, being a cutie, and feeling good in your body
