“We do not need your recognition. We need you to stop enabling our annihilation.”

Read Nour ElAssy’s latest:
I survived Israel's genocide in Gaza. This is what recognition of a Palestinian state means to me
Recognition is meaningless while Gaza is starved, bombed, and occupied. What we need is action.

The so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” “appears to have no bank account, no viable address or Swiss resident on its board – all required by law.”
Will Switzerland find the courage to close the Geneva office of this death trap for Palestinians?

Israel is arming gangs to fracture Gaza’s society from the inside
It is part of a strategy to spread chaos, make Gaza ungovernable, and continue starving the population, writes Nour ElAssy.

UNRWA teams in #Gaza continue to manage shelters, provide clean water, and remove waste. They are a model of what humanitarian work is and should be.

I was briefed on the intelligence last week.

Iran posed no imminent threat of attack to the United States. Iran was not close to building a deliverable nuclear weapon. The negotiations Israel scuttled with their strikes held the potential for success.

How My Reporting on the Columbia Protests Led to My Deportation
As an Australian who wrote about the demonstrations while on campus, I gave my phone a superficial clean before flying to the U.S. I underestimated what I was up against.

This would be another dent in the credibility of the BBC - if it had any credibility left.
BASEMENT FILMS: “Most of all we would like to thank the doctors/contributors/survivors… and to apologize for not believing them BBC would never run a film like this. Turns out they were right.”

BBC just shelved a doc about Gaza doctors. 🤔

❌halt arms transfers
❌sanction those responsible for ongoing atrocity crimes
❌suspend the trade agreement with Israel

At the time of the Nazi death camps, no one from the outside was watching.

Now everyone knows, starting with the many Western leaders pledging unconditional support for Israel and sending weapons for the slaughter #Gaza.

In my whole life as a journalist and humanitarian worker, I’ve never seen anything as ignoble as this: 2 supposed democracies luring desperate, hungry civilians with food so they can be slaughtered.

Hey @nytimes.com, BBC, & other mainstream media: your not-so-secret Palestine style guide is uncovered.

Just one thing this brilliant piece forgot to add: avoid as much as possible writing “Palestine” & “Palestinian”. It might acknowledge they have an identity - God forbid.

“The outlets want coverage of the war, but not the responsibility of caring for those covering it. They use our reports to fill their broadcasts, but they don’t even remember our names. They ask for high-resolution images but won’t offer enough to cover a meal. We are used – bled dry and discarded.”
Since starting to work as a journalist in Gaza, Nour ElAssy's life has unravelled in real time under Israeli bombs and siege. But she continues to write articles "praying someone, somewhere, will read them and feel what I feel". Read her latest:

Will you act now – decisively – to prevent genocide in Gaza and to ensure respect for international humanitarian law?
