Venus figure from the Siberian Paleolithic site of Mal'ta, dated approximately 24,000 BP. There is a leaf shaped mark on her right shoulder/breast and a hole drilled in the base, presumably indicating it was worn or hung as a pendant.

President Trump wants to expand offshore oil and gas drilling across more than 1.2 billion acres of U.S. waters. Opening up California, the Gulf of Mexico, parts of Florida, and large areas of Alaska to drilling puts coastal economies, communities, and wildlife at risk.

Imagine seeing a Roman building in ancient Wales, the tiled roof lined with antefixes proudly proclaiming the presence of the Legio XX Valeria Victrix with their name and symbol, the wild boar. The Twentieth was among the legions involved with the construction of Hadrian's Wall. 🏺 1/

The EU has a very clear two-point plan: first, weaken Russia; second, support Ukraine.

Sanctions are hitting Russia hard.

The export of Russian crude oil is at its lowest. And tax revenues from oil are the lowest since the war started.

Washington DC would rather bail out businesses that take dangerous risks than prevent them from crashing in the first place. This is how politicians keep their donor dollars flowing.

We need publicly funded elections.
The Fed is gutting its ability to monitor warning signs of bank failures and slashing rules put in place after 2008 to prevent another financial crisis.

Now, big banks are ramping up the same risky behaviors that led to the last economic crash–setting the stage for another one.

We need comprehensive immigration reform. No more excuses. A path to citizenship that doesn't look like climbing a series of higher and higher walls for a decade. Speaking of immigrants with respect, not contempt or false pity.

Immigration is our heritage. Screw the nativist fearmongers.

www.gregpalast.com/venezuela-wh... Look it up: According to OPEC’s own site, Venezuela’s 303 billion barrels in proven reserves are four times the reserves of Saudi Arabia. (By the way, Donald, when you announce a “covert” operation, it’s no longer covert. But never mind.)
I met Chávez and Maduro. I know drugs are not the reason Trump wants war with Venezuela
You must know three things about Venezuela to understand why Donald Trump has ordered a covert operation to overthrow their government.

The broken child within Trump must always win, and he doesn’t care how transparently ridiculous his lies are as long as he can say, “I did this thing!”
As I've been arguing, Trump signed the bill for release of the Epstein files not because he cares about looking transparent, but rather because it's lethal for him to be perceived as losing control of the GOP

Trump & his flying monkeys’ only solution to every problem is coercion: “Might makes right. Do what I want or else.” Brutality, venality - it all springs from this.
Hoekstra is essentially floating:
“Buy the American jet or we start asking questions about your place in North American air defense.”

That’s not diplomacy.
That’s the political equivalent of holding a lighter under the curtains and asking how much the drapes mean to you.

Ecuador just delivered a stunning WIN for the planet!

Voters kept the constitution that made it the first country to recognize nature’s rights - protections that have stopped mining, defended forests, and saved endangered species.

A clear stand that nature is worth defending.
