Amazing work by Friends of Noise and their new venue!

All ages, ADA access as a priority for both the stage and viewing, goals for youth at the forefront of leadership and operations, a DIY merch lab. Holy moly 🥵

Since Dan Ryan doesn't like posting on here, may I present his reaction to the Parks levy passing:

"It's unfortunate that turnout in last night's Parks Levy vote was low. However, I'm glad that Portlanders who did vote made their voices clear: Parks are a priority in our community."

I don't know what will happen in NYC tonight, but I do know that regardless of outcome, any number of public figures, celebrities, politicians and institutions that oppose Mamdani have done so with a level of rhetorical ugliness, racism, and dishonesty that should neither be forgotten nor forgiven.

Too bad about Lollipoppe Shoppe. The venue-only model is a limited opportunity these days. You have to offer a lot more than a stage and a bar with shows a few days a week, even then you need to get lucky to break even in 2025. I also suspect we're at capacity for small medium venues in this town.
