Struggling to make peace with a world that makes no sense. https://lunarfish.github.io/wealthscales Everyone needs 1 home. No-one needs 2. If you're not a socialist, you're either a sociopath or an idiot.
Not sure who takes life advice from Johnny Depp's sausage perfume adverts but I feel like some of them might die on safari.

It's funny (depressing) that Isaac Asimov and then Star wars taught us that when we invented robots they would be adorable and childlike but now, thanks to a few damaged and insecure rich arseholes, they'll most likely be randy, misogynistic racists.

The tiny dancer lyrics make no sense. Surely it should be "the tune she knows, the words she hums" #6music

When I first joined here there was a lot of "there is no algorithm" and "we are the algorithm". I have no idea what that means but empirically it seems to involve my discover feed containing quite a few naked men in their bathroom photos. I'm not sure what I've done to achieve this.

Why is almost everything now a sequel or a remake? Oh ... I see.

In the 4x400m they put the best athlete last but the biggest problem is negotiating the stopped runners. Surely the best chance of winning is getting out in front early. #tokyo2025

Pretty pleased with how my cantilevered sit/stand desk on wheels project is going. No power tools apart from the cordless drill for dowels.

@bsky.app feature request please. You can react to a post with any emoji instead of the heart icon. You still just show a single total reaction count and the most common emoji. That way you can express support for posts where "like" isn't an appropriate response - eg dystopian news updates.

I see James Dyson, inventor of the single use disposable vacuum cleaner, is in the news today.

Fun fact-he is the largest land owner in Lincolnshire and pretty universally despised by all who have dealings with him.

Is this the plan now? Boycott everything until what? I'm boycotting Meta which means I've lost touch with my older relatives - Facebook and my younger relatives - Instagram.(I can't decide how I feel about this) and I'm still using WhatsApp anyway. I can't imagine Darth Zuckerberg gives a monkeys.

I'm always surprised that the divine comedy reminds me of the doors and that Michael Fassbender thing Stevie Martin just chose on #6music reminded me of both.

Vanilla Ice was almost a chess grand master. He was great in training but in competition he stole queens under pressure.
MUSIC FACT OF THE DAY.

Rap legend Vanilla Ice’s very first job was as a sonographer and was the inspiration behind the hit ‘I Size Babies’.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... Microsoft to build super computer in Essex. In the 80s IBM built a computer that beat chess grand masters. Microsoft's will aim to beat a bored 8 year old at mousetrap 3 times out of ten whilst reconfiguring any connected audio devices every 5 minutes.
AI could boost UK economy by 10% in 5 years, says Microsoft boss
Boss Satya Nadella said it was the biggest investment the firm had made outside of the US.

Since Trumpty Dumpty went up on the roof of the white house the other day, I wonder if Charlie could take him up on the walls of Windsor Castle, preferably while all his horses and men are otherwise occupied.

Whenever there's athletics on like #tokyo2025 I start hearing Steve Cram commentating in my head when I'm somewhere like the supermarket. "Ooh he's got himself a bit boxed in. Needs to find some space here."

The problem with using songs as beds on #bbc6music is they start to trigger my circadian rhythms. Chris Hawkins just played Buzzcocks - Everybody's happy nowadays and now my brain thinks it's almost clocking off time.

The job of accountants is to ensure you pay the correct tax - not to ensure you pay as little tax as possible. The job of solicitors is to take responsibility for ensuring transactions are legal - not to ensure the solicitors can't be blamed if they aren't. I blame the professionals.

I've just realised who Robert Jenrick reminds me of. Manny's crappy boss in the first episode of Black Books. "What's that you're eating - soup?" Simultaneously vacuous and pompous.

Anyone else think #6music #cloudbusting is being massively undermined by what they call news bulletins but what I increasingly think of as "Nigel Farage's same thought for every day"?
