I’m just gonna keep quoting this post.
Consider this me walking over to a sign and aggressively pointing to it.
Whenever I decided to have a hobby that heavily relies on the ability to count/have an attention span was the day of my downfall

Almost all of the revenue I get from things I have written (non-fiction or academic) comes from libraries. I always say 'get your library to order it' because that is literally the best way to support me and make work like mine available to a wider audience
Libraries purchase books. When you see a book at the library, it isn’t “free”

the library bought it.

which in turn means that the community bought it.

In other words, library books are not lost sales for authors and publishers; they’re positive sales. Active sales. Those are bought.

Marjorie Taylor Greene is not an ally and I don’t want to see the left/Dems trying to make her into such. She’s a Karen who’s getting her face eaten by the leopard she put into power. She’s getting exactly what she fought for. Fuck her now and forever.

After over 15 years my shitty bamboo drawing tablet is breaking

Still fully functional, but the plastic casing is breaking and coming apart

Old faithful

… nothing a few strategic placements of duct tape won’t fix, hopefully

If I had a nickel for every time I started sort-of-dating someone with she/her pronouns who through discussions of my gender identity discovered that they themselves are also trans/nb followed by us later deciding we’re better off as friends…

TRUMP: You have to bring in talent

INGRAHAM: Well, we have plenty of talented people in America

TRUMP: No you don't. No.

INGRAHAM: We don't have talented people here?

Reminder that, unless a creative freelancer has a spouse with a day job that offers health insurance, they likely have an ACA plan. And with the hits to creative industries the past few years, I'm guessing many qualify for subsidies.

Related reminder that comic creators are freelancers.
The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Many freelancers in the United States rely on ACA marketplace plans for their health insurance. In an industry that has already been working overtime to turn gamedevs into gig workers, freelance and contract devs are about to get even more squeezed. This is unacceptable.
