Of course, none of this would have happened if the hydraulic system hadn't included an achilles heel, a point where multiply redundant systems all converged and could be taken out with one blow.

No. Go read an FAA crash report. There may be a material cause cited (e.g., the jackscrew threads were damaged on Alaska Air Flight 261), but they almost always cite multiple other material and nonmaterial factors as well (pilot behaviors, corporate cultures, communication practices, etc.).

One thing I find hard in this era of incipient fascism is to speak out in new, unfamiliar, and uncomfortable ways. I don't think Will Stancil—if I may be the first to drop his name without a "love-em-or-hate-em" qualifier—has ever had that problem. Good insight here on what it entails.

I did and they're still not listening. Six out of eight of the largest mass movement protests in US history have happened since 2017—the single largest of which was less than a month ago. But Dem leadership is still addicted to comity and feckless bipartisanship. They will not respond to the people.

Does anyone else do this?: Everytime I try to remember who Hillary Clinton ran with in 2016, I draw a complete blank. Can't remember a thing, except it was some unnotable, unaccomplished, amoral, bland, worthless white guy. And it's not like his name comes to me later—just a big ol nothing.
